Unboxing Phyllis' giveaway goodies (finally)

Hello everyone! How are you doing? Hope you had a great start of the year!

Last Saturday I had my last exams from college and I have a little bit less than a month off before the next semester starts. I hope that I will have time to post a little bit more on the blog, however, I’m sure I won’t have time to post as much as I want. Also, I don’t want to publish a lot of content in a month and then leave the blog inactive for 5 months, so I might leave some posts scheduled, so the blog stays updated while I’m busy with college. I do have some ideas in mind. Some are reviews, some are tutorials, but we’ll see what I have time to do.

Today’s post isn’t a review or a tutorial. I don’t know if you remember, but I won second place on last year’s giveaway from Phyllis. I still haven’t had time to unbox the items that she sent me, because, well, I’m a hopeless mess, so I thought to do so in a blog post. Again, thank you Phyllis for all the goodies you sent me. It was really sweet of you to do a giveaway.

The two first items on the giveaway are this Ken Fashionista and this Barbie I can be… scientist. I haven’t bought any Ken dolls as an adult, so I’m glad to have this one.

Let’s start unboxing Ken. He wears a plaid/gingham white and blue shirt, beige shorts and nautical shoes.
Ken Fashionista

He has blond hair and blue eyes, classic Ken look.

His nautical shoes are quite cute and have some nice details on them.

Let’s move on to Barbie scientist, who’s wearing a lab coat, glasses and a cute dress.

Without the glasses, she has the classic Barbie look: Millie headmold, blue eyes and blonde hair. By the way, the glasses came attached with some of those horrible plastic things, that I wish that Mattel would stop putting on the doll’s heads.

The outfit is cute, but it’s all one piece. Aaawwww…. I really liked that dress! Well, I guess she will have to go to work every day with the same outfit….

The microscope is quite cute and has some molded details on it. Also, I’m glad it’s not pink and they chose a realistic color like black.

She also sent me a fashion pack that I really like. I’m not going to unbox this today, because I’m planning to do a fashion galore type of post soon.

The last item she sent me is this hammock. It wasn’t included in the second price, but the person that won the first price didn’t want it, so she sent it to me. Whoever that person is, thank you, I really like it.

The hammock requires some light assembly, and once everything is settled, it looks like this. I love the fact that, again, Mattel used realistic colors instead of making everything pink.

It comes with this table that has ice underneath to keep the drinks cold (does this have an specific name?), a jar and a glass of lemonade.

It also comes with this super cute sleeping white kitten. Isn’t it adorable?

And this is it.  Thank you again Phyllis for all the goodies. I’ve never won anything in my life before, so I felt very lucky when I won this.

Also, thank you all so much for all your comments, feedback and suggestions on my last two posts. I’ve already though what my next post is going to be about and I should start working on it later this week. Hint: it’s going to be doll photography related.  I hope you like it!

Blog to you soon.

  1. What a nice giveaway to receive! I'm sure that the dolls will be fighting over the hammock once summer comes.

    1. Hi Barb! Yes, it was a nice giveaway, and very generous. I always wonder what I would put in a giveaway, as in Spain we get things like a hundred years later. It would probably be a Made to Move doll, as everyone seems to enjoy those.

      Thanks for stopping by.

    1. It is indeed Dom. I'm glad I got the kitten. I was considering buying one of those Schleich dog figures, so my dolls could have a pet, but I think for now they're good with this cute kitten.

  3. What a wonderful prize to win. I can only imagine how much fun you must have had unboxing all this great stuff! I agree....glad the microscope didn't come in pink! That ice cooler is really cool. And yes, too bad Barbie's uniform is all in one piece. (Shame on Mattel for cutting corners!) If you had the time and the interest, you could take it apart and add the missing pieces so that it could really be a 3-piece outfit!
    Enjoy your winter break!

    1. Hi April! Unfortunately, I don't have the time. I always say that I want to learn to sew, but I never take the time to do so. Winter break is not that long to do all that stuff I'd love to do, but I hope to get more time during summer break.
      Thanks for stopping by.

  4. I am so glad you liked this! I was actually quite surprised to see my name in the subject line of your post since I haven't done a giveaway in a while! LOL. I have been doing a lot of procrastinating and have not done a post in a while myself. Don't worry about me though, I am well! I am also hoping to get some photos taken and start posting again too!

    1. Hi Phyllis! The fact that it took me so long to unbox this stuff proves how busy I've been this past year. Procrastinating is good from time to time LOL, but I'm looking foward to read a new post from you.
Hope you and your daughters are doing well.
