The return of Monster High

Hello and welcome back to my blog. Today I want to do something that I don't do that often and that it's write an opinionated post. I don't typically talk about doll news or comment on dolls I don't own yet, but from time to time I like to do something different. Please, keep in mind that is my own personal opinion, which is subjective. Also, my criticism is meant to be constructive, and not meant to disrespect the designers involved or their work. If anything, my main critiques are directed to Mattel as a whole. I will also try to break this post into sections, for easy reading. And now, let's finally get into it.   A while back, it was announced that Monster High will be making a comeback. If you have been following me for a while, you know that I love Monster High. Hence, my nickname is "Monster Crafts". However, since the line was discontinued around 2016-2017, I have been focusing more on my Barbie dolls.  A little backstory on Monster High For those

How to: Doll-size crate console. An experiment

If you've been following this blog for quite some time, you might know that I'm currently focusing on making walls and props for my doll photography. My plan is to have a bunch of props that I can mix and match to give a sense of variety to my photos; instead of having to make bulky one theme dioramas that I have no room to fit. I'm not sure if console is the right name for this type of furniture. For what I understand, "console" can be those pieces of furniture often found in a hallway where you can leave your keys when you get home.  Because I di

Photo compilation: February 2021

Wow, another month has gone by, and it's time for yet another photo compilation. I wanted to do a separate post for February because I wanted to challenge myself to post one photo every single day on Instagram and work on some new photos. I have succesfully  managed to do so, however I've used quite a few photos that I had previously posted on the blog, so it's not worth posting them here again. At some point I started feeling quite uninspired to take doll photos. Despite having finished school, I've been keeping myself very busy: I've joined an HTML course, have been doing some paper work and job seeking, plus now I have two blogs to create content for and promote. I think that somehow I've run myself a bit thin and that has drained my creativity juices a bit.  The month started off pretty well. After publishing some photos from my New wainscot design post, I wanted to use it again for a few more pics. The idea behind these photos is "Stay at home".
