How to: doll size crate shelf/bookcase

Wow, I can't believe I'm back with another craft tutorial. It's the 4th craft related post this year, which is quite rare, since I typically make one of those once in a blue moon. Not that I'm complaining, I'm quite happy with that. Originally I created this blog with the idea of making a doll house and furniture for my Monster High dolls, but that never happened. You know, life got in the way and I didn't manage to do it. Plus, I didn't have much space in the old house. So, now that I'm in a new space and have more time, I want to take advantage of it.  When I started working on my backgrounds and taking pics, I realized the lack of doll furniture that I have. I had a few ideas in mind, like an Upcycling part 2 type of post, but I didn't manage to find the supplies that I needed. While I was working on my colorful crates, I thought that maybe I could make a shelf out of crates, since they're quite easy to make. I recalled that My Froggy Stuff h...

Making colorful crates

Lately I've been in such a crafty mood and I've been working on several craft projects. On one hand, I've been working on my Mix'n'Match backgrounds part 2, and on the other I've been working on some decor and photography props. But a sudden heat wave has put a pause on my craft, since I not only don't have air conditioner on my doll room, but  we've been having problems with the one in the living room (which is just next to the doll room, and I turn it on to cool down both rooms). So, while I wait for everything to go back to normal, I've thought it could be a good idea to start working on this post.  When I started working on my backgrounds, I thought it could be fun to make some colorful props or pieces of furniture to contrast with the backgrounds. I was thinking of things the dolls could use to sit on or lean against while posing for the photos and the two things that came to my mind were chairs and crates. I would love to make some chairs in t...

Upcycling: Transforming a tea box into doll furniture

Hi there! I can't belive summer is over! It feels like last week when I did my finals, and all of the sudden, I'm back in college again. I'm quite happy that I've managed to write a couple of posts per month, but, as usual, I haven't had time to do all the crafts or write all the posts that I had in mind. Since I was quite busy with my house renovation, I tried to focus on simple projects and posts, because I knew that, if I got into a complex project, it would end up abandoned. I wasn't going to do any type of "craft" posts, but since this is a makeover, I don't think it will take me as long as making a craft from scratch. How did I get this idea? Well, I can't take full credit. Quick backstory: A few weeks ago I came across an Instagram post from Bonequea , who found some cheap wooden items and had transformed them into stunning furniture. Here is her original IG post. I really do encourage you to follow her on Instagram, her photos a...

How to make a doll TV that "works"

Image
Hi again! It's just taken me over a month to write a new post. I've been keeping myself busy: I'm doing an online marketing course, Mr. Monster and I are trying to do some sport, so I can't quite find time in my spare time for blogging. Also, my laptop crashed again and I have to borrow Mr. Monster's. The other reason why it took me so long is that I wanted to bring you something more creative than another doll review. So, if I can't find the time to sit down and write, I even have less time to craft. So, as you may have guessed by the title, today I'm going to show you how to do a doll TV in which you can change what's on the screen. I actually came up with this idea a couple of years ago and I was inspired by I toy that I had as a child. However, I never found the time or the patience to work on it until now. So, if you are curious to see how I did it, just keep reading.
