Monster Crafts

Well, you read the title. This little blog is turning 10 today! I can't believe 10 years have gone by since that day I came up with the name Monster Crafts and created the blog. And, a full decade later, here I am, still standing.  I still remember when I started collecting Monster High dolls. I spent quite a lot of time searching the Internet for information, and that's how I found out so many dedicated blogs. I'm one of those people that, when they like something and feel very passionate about it, they want to talk about it and spend time learning about it. So, what a better way to canalize all that energy and passion than creating my own blog, right? I've already mentioned in past Blogoversary posts that, when I created this blog, I had the idea of building a wooden Monster High dollhouse, with rooms decorated with the theme for each character (or at least the ones I had at that point) and blog about it.  April has just arrived, and Easter break is about to start, which means I won't have school for a few days. And honestly, it was about time. I had a few relaxed days after the exams, but then we got a whole load of work to do before the break. But finally, here we are, about to unbox a new doll. This is Barbie Fashionistas #185, that came out probably last year. Mr. Monster bought her for me a while back and she's been sitting in her box waiting to be unboxed, and her time has finally come. This is not going to be a very in-depth review, as this doll has been on the market for a while now, but I still want to take the chance to take some pics of her and let you know what I like and don't like about her.  A quick mention about the box. If you're a regular reader of this blog, you might already know that, a bit over a year ago, I started my learning to sew journey. I'm still fairly new and haven't done much, but I have sewn a couple of things I'm quite proud of. As of lately, I haven't had much time to practice, but now that I have a few quiet days of school, I thought I could share some of the things I'd love to sew, so I can start planning out for when I have more time.  These are clothes I've seen on the Barbie Style Instagram account and that I would love to recreate myself. What I love about this account is that the style is overall simple, but they make it work by switching different pieces of clothing and accessories. On top of that, since the clothes are already doll-scale, for someone who's a beginner like me, it would be easier to figure things out, like what fabric to use. Hello dolly-friends and welcome back to another Photo compilation , the series where I share all the photos that I shared on Instagram and other social media during the previous two months. For some reason, it's March already, which means time to share the photos from January and February.  As some of you know, my ring light broke, and I had to repair it, and also in January I got sick and had to do a lot of catching up with school. Because of all of this, I didn't publish any new photos during January. In fact, most of them are from the same photoshoot, and I've just been spreading them through the month of February.  Back in early February, I had quite a relaxed week at school, so one Saturday I asked Mr. Monster if we could go somewhere to take some outdoors photos. Hello again my dear dolly-friends! It's been an eventful start to 2023. Ms. Rona finally got us and I had to miss the first week of class. This led to me having a lot of catching up, and then we had a week packed with exams. Also, I had to re-glue my ring light that broke last year, but due to circumstances, I never found time for it. My plan was to prepare some content in advance for the blog, but clearly I haven't been able to. Luckily, this week is a quiet one, so I'm trying to find some time here and there to write a new post.
