Name that doll

Hello everyone! How are you? July is about to end and I wonder what I have done with my time. I still have lots of things to do before the new course starts!

Today's post is a little bit different. If you have been reading this blog for a while, you may have noticed that, at the end of my posts, I usually ask for name suggesstions for my dolls. So, I've decided to put all my unamed dolls together in this post and try to find a name for them. Some I have already a name or two in mind, but some I have no ideas. Let's start!

#1 Sweetheart Stripes

Sweetheart Stripes was my first curvy doll. When I saw the promo pictures, I loved her blue hair, but somehow when she arrived I wasn't that crazy about her. I don't have any name ideas for her, not even a back story!

#2 Spring into style

This doll looks something between italian and latina to me, so maybe I should pick names that sound rather spanish or italian.  One of the names in my mind is Isabella, but I'll be happy to listen to your suggestions. In my dollyverse, she's the owner of a cafe (that I haven't built yet).

#3 Barbie Look Music Festival

Both the names Zoe and Lara have come to my mind, but I don't really have a favourite. In my dollyverse, she works for a music themed magazine.

#4 Pretty in Paisley

In my Pretty in Paisley review, Muff suggested the name Mandy. I'm not really a fan of Mandy, so I prefer to go for the longer version, Amanda. Anyway, feel free to suggest other names. In my dollyverse, she has a part time job and she goes to University at night.

#5 Kitty Cute

In my review, Barb suggested names like Katerina. At first, I didn't like those names for this doll, but somehow they're starting to grow on me. I could call her Katherine, Karen or just go with the short version Kitty. I've also considered Chelsea, but it sounds to me better for a curvy doll. Any other suggestions? In my dollyverse, she's starting her first year at University.

#6 Style so Sweet

I've almost decided to call her Sasha, but I'm not really sure if it fits her.

#7 So Sporty

In my review I mentioned that I really liked the name June, but I had alredy another doll (that I don't own yet) in mind for that name. The other name I have in mind is Meg, but I don't think it suits her.

#8 Plaid on Plaid

Watching Doctor Who, I thought of calling her Jenna, after actress Jenna Coleman, who plays Clara Oswald. She doesn't really resemble the actress, but it's a nice name. However, I still don't think it's the perfect name for her. Any other suggestions?

#9 B-Fabulous

In my review, I mentioned that I had considered the name Olivia at first, but since Mr. Monster said she looked indian, I considered the name Priya. In my dollyverse, she's good friends with Grace and she's in her last year of University, probably majoring in physics.

All your name suggestions will be welcome. I'll publish the ones that I've picked in a few days. Stay tuned!

  1. Good luck with that! My shelves are full of "Glitter Raquelle", "Pink Hair Babs", "Shovel Hand Lea", "Barbie Basic no.14", "Xinyi no.2", "Karl Johans Gate" and the like. I was thinking of doing a post like yours, but with some kind of remuneration for the best name-giver so I'd be sure to end up with easier names for all my Babs no.3.

    1. Hi Black Kitty! I didn't think of giving a reward to the best name giver,so probably next time I could do that. I also want for my dolls better names than "Sweetheart Stripes", but if I can't name all of them in one post, I'll do another one in the future.

  2. Haha, you do have a lot of dolls to name! That is also one of my biggest challenges. I have so many unnamed dolls myself and naming them is one of the hardest things for me to do. I sometimes us a random name generator or look up names using a baby naming app. Good Luck!

    1. Hi Phyllis! Actually a baby name generator is a fantastic idea! Sometimes, when I see a doll the name comes to me very easily, but sometimes not. I usually search for inspiration in old Barbie friends, or sometimes if they remind me of someone.
      Thanks for stopping by!

  3. I had this grand idea to make them names using two letters from their official names. Particularly, the 1st letter of their 1st name and any letter from their second name:

    1. Stacie
    2. Sinarta
    3. Blake
    4. Pippi
    5. K-Cee. She must be a singer and that's her stage name.
    6. Sonya
    7. Stevie
    8. Poppy
    9. Babette

Not the best of names, but there you go.
