It's 2025...
Happy 2025 dolly-friends! Long time, no see.
I have been very quiet since my last post in October 2024. You might already know I've been busy with both my job and my German classes. But apart from that, I also haven't been very motivated to work on anything doll related. I haven't done a Christmas-related post for the first time since 2020. I had my German test right before Christmas, which took a lot of my time then. But even when they were done, I just didn't have the energy to come up with any photoshoot ideas. Well, hopefully this year I will find the right motivation for it when the time comes.
Back in November I started working on a new wall for my dioramas, but it didn't work out as I planned. I tried twice, and both times I faced issues. I thought of trying a new material for this, but I searched high and low in my area and couldn't find it. I was on holiday that week and didn't want to order online for it to arrive at a later time, and then be sitting there in my house until I find the time to get around it. That really threw me off a little bit. I still want to give it another try, with the materials that I have; and then try to do it with a different material, to see which one works better. It will be fun to experiment with different materials than the ones I usually do.
For Christmas, I got a camera support that allows you to film in an overhead frame, which is going to be great to film YouTube videos. I have already filmed and uploaded the first one and started the second one. For now I want to start with miniature artwork until I get better at the whole filming thing and then move on to larger projects.
I want to give some love to my YouTube channel this year. Like I always say, I don't want it to take away from the blog, but rather add to it. I feel like craft tutorials are going to be easier to follow in a video format rather than in a blog post. Craft posts do actually take a lot of work and time to make, and I have to constantly remember to try to get photos while I'm working, which is not always easy.
I don't know when my next post is going to be, as there's a lot going on for me right now. But I will try to drop by as soon as possible, even if it's just with a quick life update. I do miss the blog, but right now I don't have the energy to give it the love that it deserves.
I hope you've all had an amazing holiday season and I wish you the greatest for 2025.
Big hugs

Happy 2025! It is really amazing how fast the year 2024 went and here we are, in 2025. I hope that your German test went well. I studied German a long time ago, but did not get the hang of it. I can understand when you talk it, but I can not answer you. With some support, I can write.
ReplyDeleteI had plans to make a diorama and even got some supplies. Those still stand nicely in our living room, looking all sad and forgotten. I made a tipi instead and that was a easier way to make something for my Barbies to live in, one at a time. But I have not given up yet, someday I will get the motivation I need, and so will you!
Great idea to give the youtube channel some love. I have been visiting it from time to time, just to get some inspiration. If just for fun and perk myself up.
Lately I have been focusing on my Bullet Journal, coloring, crocheting and reading. I finished my course about Feelgood literature and it was really interesting. I mostly read other books and not cozy fuzzy ones. So it was like a new terrain for me. At the moment I have some days free.
Have a wonderful day and a marvellous new year!
Hugs!
Happy 2025 to you too Niina! The German test went well, but I'm not enjoying the classes very much. However, I still go because I still can learn something. I did start learning German over a decade ago, but had to quit due to the job I had at that time and now I'm getting back at it.
DeleteIf it makes you feel better, I also have craft supplies that I bought and had plans to use, but never did. I think that most crafters suffer from this.
I have actually found some inspiration and I've almost finished filming another video for YouTube. Spoiler: it's another painting. I'll make sure to post it over here.
Sounds like you've been keeping yourself busy, so no wonder why you haven't had that much time to build a diorama.
Thanks for your lovely comment. Hugs to you too!
Feliz Ano Nuevo! Froechliche Neues Jahr! I'm excited to see that you are trying YouTube again, as I would like to try as well this year. I'm definitely interested in watching your videos. My year has been a bit crazy so far; I will be talking about it in the next post that I put up. In the meantime, it is good to see you will be around for 2025!
ReplyDeleteFeliz año para ti también! YouTube could be what motivates me to try to craft more often, even if it's just smaller projects like the paintings. I don't want to abandon the blog, but lately it feels quite stale over here and not much activity going around.
DeleteHope to read about what you've been up to soon!
