Barbie Style clothes I'd love to make

Image
If you're a regular reader of this blog, you might already know that, a bit over a year ago, I started my learning to sew journey. I'm still fairly new and haven't done much, but I have sewn a couple of things I'm quite proud of. As of lately, I haven't had much time to practice, but now that I have a few quiet days of school, I thought I could share some of the things I'd love to sew, so I can start planning out for when I have more time.  These are clothes I've seen on the Barbie Style Instagram account and that I would love to recreate myself. What I love about this account is that the style is overall simple, but they make it work by switching different pieces of clothing and accessories. On top of that, since the clothes are already doll-scale, for someone who's a beginner like me, it would be easier to figure things out, like what fabric to use. So, I created this "wishlist" of garments from there that I would like to recreate. Also, sin...

Behind the scenes: inspired by Barbie Style

Image
If you follow my Photo compilation posts , you'll know that lately I haven't been very inspired to take doll photos. I've had some ideas here and there, but I haven't had that spark that made me super inspired, or felt that tick that made me want to drop everything that I'm doing and start taking doll pics. But that changed around a week ago.  A while back, I saw on @barbiestyle a photo that triggered an idea. It was a rather simple photo, but I thought I could recreate it or use it as an inspiration for a photoshoot. I haven't been very inspired recently so, a few days ago, I decided to give it a try. Down below, you can see the photo in question. Pop of color 2

Image
Hello everyone!  I've been busy this week so I haven't been able to post anything. I'm working on that chair, slowly, but I'm working on it. Mr. Monster has been busy painting the house so he hasn't been able to help me with the pictures. To do something in the meantime, I've been taking some pictures of my dolls. If you read my Pop of color post, you know that I've taken some color samples from the shop where I work to use them as backgrounds for doll photography. I've returned a few of the ones I had and borrowed a few more. I must confess that when I'm not busy in my job, I can't stop thinking "Which colour am I going to grab next?".  I didn't plan to do another photoshoot post, I wanted to do a craft post, but I'm getting a little bit frustrated that I can't get things done and I don't want to be absent from the blog such a long time. Also, I like to experiment with photography and colors. If you have been follow...

Doll review: Barbie Style Grace

Image
Hello my dear doll lovers! What have you been up to? I wish I had started this post earlier, but this past two nights I've been putting some order in my doll room. I'm not done yet, but at least all my Monster High shoes are organized. Today I'm going to review Grace , from the Barbie Style doll line. I've liked Grace since the S o In Style dolls came out, but those were never sold in my country. Also, I like the concept of the Style doll line, at least the first two waves, because the dolls came fully articulated and the fashions were more realistic. Unfortunately, this particular doll, as well as the two Nikki dolls in this line, was never sold in Spain, so I had to get this one at Amazon.com.  At first, Grace was introduced in the So In Style line, which focused on Grace and her friends Trichelle, Kara, Chandra and Marisa. I really like that line, and it was too bad it wasn't sold here, so I really hope those characters get featured in future lines. How...
